The Center Street Lending Difference

Management Team:
Stephen Couig

Mr. Couig is the Founder of Center Street Lending. Prior, Mr. Couig was President of Capital Pacific Holdings’ residential development business with annual revenues of $500MM+. In his 10-year tenure at CPH, Mr. Couig oversaw the acquisition and financing of billions of dollars in residential property.

Under his leadership, CPH increased revenues more than 150 percent and profits in excess of 300 percent. CPH was recognized in the industry as a leader in adopting new technologies to improve processes and was voted “One of the 50 Best Companies to Work For” by Professional Builder magazine. Prior to joining CPH, Mr. Couig was Executive Vice President for Scottsdale, AZ - based Troon Golf, a private company majority-owned by Starwood Capital Group and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Couig successfully acquired Troon’s first six courses, transforming the company into an owner/management organization.

Prior to Troon, Mr. Couig worked in Morgan Stanley’s Equity Capital Markets Division, where he focused on business development and syndicate management for real estate companies including REITs and hospitality companies.  Mr. Couig is a graduate of the MBA program at The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  He is a member of the Southern California Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Orange County.


Adam Mikkelsen

Mr. Mikkelsen is a Member of the Board of Directors for Center Street Lending as well as Principal of Cooper and Company, a private investment company that acquires and actively develops assets on a long-term ownership basis, with offices in Newport Beach, CA, Dallas, TX and Auckland, New Zealand. He leads the evaluation and structuring of the firm’s private and public equity investments.

Prior to joining Cooper and Company in 2001, Mr. Mikkelsen practiced as a corporate attorney in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis, acting for institutions in leveraged buyout transactions. He was also a senior analyst for Cooper & LeVasseur, an investment fund focused on investing in public companies in transition.

​Prior to moving to the United States, Mr. Mikkelsen practiced law in New Zealand at Russell McVeagh, acting for clients in domestic and international corporate transactions. Mr. Mikkelsen holds PhD, LLB and BA degrees from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

David A. Frosh

Currently, Mr. Frosh serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for Center Street Lending. He is also Managing Director of Whiskey Hill Partners, a private equity firm. From 2001 through 2007, Mr. Frosh served as President of Sperry Van Ness, one of the nation’s largest real estate investments brokerage firms.  Under his leadership, Sperry Van Ness grew from nine markets and 100 agents to 165 markets in 36 states and 1,300 agents nationally.  Revenues grew from $15 million to $130 million in 5 years. 

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Mr. Frosh served as President of CAM Commerce Solutions, formerly a NASDAQ-listed software development company that is focused on point-of-sale, inventory control and credit card processing based in Fountain Valley, Calif.  During his five-year tenure CAM’s stock price grew from $2 per share to $43 per share. CAM was twice named by Fortune Magazine as one of the nation’s 50 fastest growing small cap public companies. The company was sold in August, 2008 for $187 million.  Prior to CAM Commerce, Mr. Frosh served as regional vice president for Automatic Data Processing (ADP), based in Roseland, New Jersey.

Mr. Frosh is a board member for Pacific Union Real Estate REI Wise and California Stem Cell. He an advisory board member for Charles Dunn Real Estate and Advanced Storage Systems. He is a Professor of Marketing at Pepperdine University and has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) since 1994. Mr. Frosh holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Claremont Graduate School

Dan Baruch

Mr. Baruch is the Chief Operating Officer of Center Street Lending. Prior to joining the firm, he was the Chief Operating Officer of W. J. Bradley Mortgage Capital, a Partner at Banc of Manhattan Capital, President of Banc of Manhattan Warehouse Lending and Executive Vice President of Countrywide Warehouse Lending. 

Mr. Baruch has 25 years of experience in banking, mortgage banking, and warehouse lending with areas of expertise that include capital markets, sales management, operations management, corporate infrastructure, credit, risk and product development. 

​Additionally, Mr. Baruch holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
